A Collection of Randomness, Ending in a Swoon

  • FYI, I've agreed to do some paid product reviews for BlogHer. I will title the posts as such so that you can just skip right on over if you're not interested.
  • Wow, nothing stirs things up like a little political talk! Let it be known that this O'Mama supporter firmly believes in the "to each his or her own" philosophy, and if you are all about the McCain/Palin ticket, so be it. I will still like you, even if I don't get it. I actually feel like politics are a subject almost not worth talking about as I'm never going to change anyone's mind about what they believe. But sometimes I need to vent a little about what *I* believe. As for people who feel a need to get rude and nasty, fire away. It happens, especially on hot topics. I'm rude and nasty sometimes, too, despite my best intentions. But at least have the confidence to put your name on what you have to say.
  • Tonight, Maddie, already in her pajamas, was waiting patiently while I put Riley's on. She was sitting cross-legged up by Riley's head. "I have a lap," she announced, patting it. "I have a beautiful lap! Riley, you can sit on my beautiful lap." He declined to take her up on her offer.
  • And now, in parting, I leave you with a swoon. I received today an e-mail from Sunday's date, sent from one of his business meetings, saying that he, and I quote, "can't wait" to see me again. The feeling is mutual.

Oooo, I like the swoon. A lot.

And also, I'm all about the business travel and absence making the heart grow fonder and all that.

Can't wait to read more updates!

Total swoon!

Oh, be still beating heart...

Reading your post takes me right back to when my partner and I first met. Just seeing his name in my Inbox made my heart beat faster and my tummy do a flip.

Swoon is such a lovely, old fashioned word...perfect for a perfect first date.

He sounds delightful...

You know what the best part about this post is? The fact that you also can't wait to see him again. I know there may be hard moments in the dating scene, but I'm glad that you are feeling somewhat ready for it and that the thought of meeting coffee date man again feels good to you, after all the misgivings you mentioned before you posted your online dating profile.

Good to know your "swoon" organ is still working.

(That was NOT meant to sound gross.)

love it! when is the dinner date?

What sweet babies you have! I love reading about Sunday's date. It makes me happy that the experience has been so positive!!

Ugh, hate those anonymous drive-bys. Stand by your words, people.

He sounds dreamy. I'm so glad your first venture into the dating world is going well. If anyone deserves a little happiness, you do.

Thank you for sharing your Sunday and Children stories...but made me smile today.

Thanks just for sharing so openly.

Best wishes and warm thoughts.

Congrats on a successful date! He sounds swoon-worthy.

"beautiful lap" - precious.

I know what you mean about not talking about politics. I don't know why we have to be so nasty all the time. It's like being online gives us license to be complete jerks to one another. I find it easier to keep my head down and plow forward with faith that everyone will soon see that Obama is exactly what this country needs.

On a lighter note, I am practically getting butterflies in my stomach just living vicariously through your new adventure! Keep it coming!

mlg said...

Clearly I will have to swoon vicariously through you. No pressure.

I love the lap story. It is sweet. Kids are amazing the way they come up with the most brilliant things that make us smile.

Good for you! I am glad it was a good first date.

CoffeeGuy is awesome so far!
As for the politics....Agreed!
I'm so not for either party. Candidates on both sides frighten me equally. Where is Nader when you really need him?
Kidding! Really, kidding!

oh wow!! coffee guy again?? awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

so happy for you.

the lap story is too sweet. I love the twin stories, they are adorable, your kiddos.

as for the swoon, it was enough to get me to delurk (I don't think I've commented before here). The change in you-- the change that you decided to make and then made-- is so beautiful. I love that you've found comfort with the rings, the date, yourself. You sound more true and whole than you have in a long time. nice to see.

I'm really happy for you and your ever-so-cautious steps back into the dating world. I will definitely pray for you as you continue on this journey. As for the political stuff, I left a comment which I don't think was rude (found under "A") and just wanted to clarify that I put A out of habit, not out of hiding. Anyone who knows me can vouch for the fact that I rarely even sign my first name, and getting a middle initial out of me is like winning an Olympic gold.

But, for the record, my name is Andrea. I don't have a blog or I'd share that with you as well. :)

Hello,

I always post comments anonymously because I do not have a thick skin for mean comments. I blog for family and friends, so I feel comfortable ranting about neoconservatives one minute and posting family pics in the next.

I do respect differing views and would much rather have an intellectual debate rather than mudslinging. I read your previous post and was impressed with your guts!! Like I wasn't already?????

Keep on keepin on!!

As pleased as I am to no longer have to date, I did get a warm, nostalgic feeling from your news. Isn't that swooning feeling lovely? And so well deserved. Soak it up, sweetie. You deserve it.

Not to get too far ahead of ourselves, but have you given any thought to when/under what conditions you would intro him to the twins? Just curious what your thoughts are on the topic.

jenn said...

Yay! So glad he emailed!

Swooning a little for you, nice to get a message while he's away, and I hope all continues well.

As for the politico stuff...agree with you wholeheartedly:)

Love the lap story!

Lots of love,
lil'sis

I completly agree with everything you said about McCain! And you have my upmost respect for putting it on here!! My husband and I are HUGE O'Mama fans too! Sorry you got attacked...but I think you are so right about the - people will believe what they believe anyway thing. It's very difficult to have a conversation with anyone about politics anymore. Most feel like they are being attacked.

Very cool about coffee date emailing you....sometimes the unknowns can be so exciting. Good for you. Your twins are hilarious and make me smile outloud. A beautiful lap?! How sweet. You have to look at our kids and wonder how they think of these things :) Yes, the political/religion conversations can be very nasty, unfortunately. I guess we all want to be right!! Sorry that I was probably one of the anonymous but an confident in my on view point. New at blogging and I guess a little shy in leaving a name but will for now on :) I'm not all the way there with O'Mama but almost. I do agree that this country needs a change in a BIG way.

Have a great day.

Susan

"I actually feel like politics are a subject almost not worth talking about as I'm never going to change anyone's mind about what they believe."
You might not change someone's mind about what they believe, BUT you might influence someone's vote. I haven't decided who I'll vote for, because my beliefs don't really match up w/ either candidate. (i'm very pro-life, very anti-war, pro-creationism being taught, pro anyone being allowed to marry, etc...) So, I was very interested in your post.

Michelle said...

Smiling here for you! :)

Just wanted to tell you to ignore any unpleasant political comments. At least it made for interesting reading! It is my hope that this country will straighten itself out very soon!
