I did the same thing with toast. Then one day I took a bite of Charlie's while I was cleaning up and was hooked!

I was just watching the swimming and was amazed. It's so beautiful. (So is toast.)

Toast with butter is enjoying a resurgence of popularity, thanks to a certain 4-year old who lives on buttered toast and chocolate soy milk.

And toast with butter while watching synchronized swimming? As close to heaven as you can get.

There is nothing like real butter, there are no substitutes, nothing comes close.

Buttered toast with hot chocolate is one of my favorites. If only it wasn't summer right now.

My son will only eat toast if it is buttered only. He is 24. I said he could open a restaurant that, providing you ate anything on toast you could go there. He replied that he would open a restaurant called Hot Buttered Toast and that is ALL he would serve!! I bet it would take off too. I imagine if you want extras on your toast you could take your own along.

YUMMM. Hot buttered toast (my dirty little secret - Wonder Bread! Crisps up on the outside but still soft in the middle, and the butter melts perfectly on top...) The simple things in life are truly the best.

Don't suppose anyone here remembers Bob and Ray. They used to do a skit on their afternoon show on WOR in New York that revolved around a restaurant called "House of Toast" where you could only get toast any way you liked it. The series was called "Mary Backstayge, Noble Wife".

I am showing my age here...this was the 1970's.

I have one more suggestion...toast with butter (I second the vote for real butter, none of those chemical pastes) with a little Penzey's Vanilla Sugar sprinkled on top. It will change your mornings. And afternoons, and evenings. Yum.

You stopped eating it because one can't stop eating it, then suddenly the whole loaf is gone and you didn't even try cinnamon and sugar. Linda
