Ass-whoopings

I am currently getting my ass handily whooped in not one, but two games of Scrabulous. I am seriously rusty in the Scrabble department. Wow.

And speaking of asses and whoopings, I'd like to open up a big ol' can of whoop-ass on the Powers That Be for voting Michael Johns off of American Idol last week. The problem with my logic here is that I guess I need to open the can of whoop-ass on . . . myself and those like me for not voting.

Which leads me to something else unrelated to ass-whoopings, I've always wished that Idol voting was against someone rather than for someone. If I could vote to have my least favorite removed from the show, I'd be more likely to pick up the phone and dial. Am I the only one who feels this way?

If I'd known you were asswhoopable at scrabulous I woulda challenged you a long time ago. It'as about time I found someone who plays at my level. I'll be getting a game on with you when I get home from work.

I often wish I could anti-vote on AI. I tend to vote more for my favs when I perceive that they are in trouble...

I think I'd be horrible at Scrabulous... everyone beats me at Scrabble... I never seem to get any "good" tiles and when I do I have no vowels at all. Or I get Q and never get a U.

I half-watch American Idol when my husband has it on (and use your blog as a handy cheat sheet so I can say half-intelligent things about the singers every once in awhile...) so I don't have an opinion. But the Pretend Husband says ALL THE TIME that he wishes it was a voting off system rather than voting for. Seriously, I hear it at least once per show. So you are definitely not alone in that sentiment.

Ooh...that's a good idea, and I wholeheartedly agree!

Snickollet...I've been reading you regularly for the last year, and been moved beyond words. Literally...I don't know that I've ever posted, even though there's been so much to say. So, I'll say this...I suck at Scrabulous, but I'm trying to get better, too...so if you want to play, I'm on facebook and totally addicted. email me and I'll give you my full name so you can challenge. we'll get better together. genie (ebaumann@hbblaw.com)

actually, given my first name and my email address, it won't exactly be hard to find me on facebook. I'm not exactly an expert at anonymity. ha. Eugenie Baumann (ha, again)

totally!!!!!!!! i agree with you. i guess they get more "votes" (and therefore money?) by getting people to vote multiple times for their faves...

Ok, A? Totally agree about the suckage of losing Michael Johns. What will we look at now? B? Your voting idea is definitely better. C? I am so addicted to Scrabulous it's not even funny. I do equal parts winning and losing, so feel free to email me and we can play sometime. And D? I just love the term ass-whoopin'

I totally agree with you on the voting thing. I like too many people to for for only one of them so I don't vote at all.

I was in shock over Michael!

Agree completely...especially about Michael Johns leaving! Can't open your can of whoop-ass on me though...I voted!

I know who I'd vote to leave this week! (And she hasn't even performed yet tonight!)

I'm right there with you on the Michael Johns issue. And I stole your idea to do a weekly AI breakdown... I hope you don't mind. I DID give you credit, though!

I always wished it was vote for the worst vs. vote for your favorite. This will eliminate the bad singers earlier!!!

Totally agree on the voting for the singer you DON'T like thing. I have been voting for my favorites...Carly, Michael, and Brooke. Last week, though, I fell victim to what I've read about lately....DVR'ing the show and then finding it's too late to vote after I've watched it. I usually watch it in plenty of time to vote, but not last week. WAAAAH!

Snick,
I'm good at Scrabulous and will give you tips if you want to play me.

Some things that have helped me are learning the two-letter words, paying attention to the point-value squares, and learning some defense.

Have you seen vote for the worst? Now I know why Kristi is still on the show.

Snick, I'm a little late getting to your blog these days. I've been reading you every day for several months, and have shared your story with my husband. I remember the day I told him about you, and my husband sat on the couch next to the computer and said "Wow, I can't even imagine". Well Snick, now I can imagine. I find it incredibly ironic that as you were passing the one year mark of your husbands death, my life without my husband began. On Friday, April 11th, my husband was killed in a motorcycle accident. On Friday night, all I could think was 'Snickollet knows how I feel right now'. I know you don't know me, but I wish we didn't have this in common.
