Thanks, Mom

My mom came over tonight for dinner, which was a lot of fun. Maddie and Riley adore her, and she and I had not had a chance to spend any one-on-one time together for a while, so the glass of wine + truffles + chatting after the kids went to bed was especially nice.

There are things I miss about living in Boston, but being close to family is a very sweet part of moving home.

I lived away from my family for about 4 years (in another country). I will never do it again.

I love that you're so much closer to the people you need the most.

Nothing takes the place of emotional support especially when you need it the most. It's good for the kids too.

I can only imagine how thankful your parents are that you're back.

I loved the pics of your two little bears. Great costumes.

I do miss living near family. I want to be part of my niece and nephew's lives.

I too was blessed with living nearby my family after some 10 years away. I truly cannot imagine it any other way.

I remember your mother's important role at the end of John's days, and I love her for that. I'm so glad you're near her again.
Love to you and the tykes.
