Overheard at Panera

[tattooed, twenty-something hipster in a ripped Skinny Puppy t-shirt is doctoring up his coffee when a sixty-something, retired regular ambles over to fill up his cup; retiree surveys coffee choices]

Retiree: Is is a mild day or a rich day today? I'm just not sure.
Hipster: Um, I was feeling mild.
Retiree: How about ballsy? Why is the coffee never described as ballsy? I, for one, would like a coffee with some balls one of these days.

It would be pretty damn funny to go to Panera one day and find that the description for the coffee read, "Ballsy and assertive."

I can just imagine a new coffee chain with the slogan "Ballsy Coffee!"

I really need to learn how to giggle quietly at work.

OMG! Let's start it! But I say the NAME of the coffee chain is Ballsy Coffee!
The slogan can be "where the coffee really has balls."

I like the name Ballsy Coffee, but I'm not sure I want to see the logo! :)

Overhearing a conversation like that would totally make my day.

I, for one, would most certainly buy coffee described as ballsy. VERY good coffee, indeed!

I think I would have had to at least snort had I heard that conversation!

I could totally use some ballsy coffee most mornings lately.

For sure.

I can't believe everyone WANTS a cup of ballsy coffee?

I LOVE it! Panera is our morning hang-out 'round these parts.

I take mine Bold with cream and sugar. MS takes his half-decaf/half hazelnut. I make fun of him and his frou-frou coffee every single day.

If you think "Ballsy Coffee" is a bold name, there is a brand of coffee here in the UK called "Camp Coffee", so you can imagine all the hilarity around that.

If I ever go anywhere and the coffee is described as ballsy and assertive, I am SO buying it. Possibly by the gallon.

I'll throw one in for the women - what would the female equivalent be to "Ballsy Coffee"?

Wait - let's not think about that question. And I loathe coffee anyway (I know, I know. I'm a friggin freak - I've learned to live with it :)), so hey, why not Ballsy coffee?

Wonder what some of the flavors of the new Ballsy Coffee would be? Run with it, people! lol

And you thought "stud" might be offensive?!

Ballsy and assertive.. I'm willing to bet that would be a HUGE seller (and more than likely it would sell to more than the usual customer.) Is it just me, or can anyone else hear customers shortening the name?? "Let's head down for some Balls and A.."

I chuckled. I needed that. Thanks.
