Weekend "Snapshots"

M&R in the race car shopping cart at Whole Foods, munching on raw corn on the cob.
Riley launching himself at me, yelling, "IloveyouIloveyouIloveyou!", burying his head in my shoulder, then demanding, "More IloveyouIloveyou?"
All of us bouncing on the trampoline at a friend's house
When on a walk on Sunday afternoon, Riley declaring, "Riley likey stroller" for the whole ride to Trader Joe's
Maddie's "make-up"
Long-overdue haircuts by Mama turn out pretty well (if I do say so myself)
Riley going down the slide at the park and at home, only holding on to my hand
"Sleeping in" until 7:00 on Sunday morning, then bringing the twins in my bed for a jumping-on-the-bed fest
At bedtime, hearing the twins list all of the people who love them: "Daddy love you, Moo love you, Ba love you, YaYa love you . . ."
Maddie's somewhat tuneless song upon awakening after Saturday's nap: "Bicycle, bicycle, bicycle . . . poop."

I agree, you do sound happy. You must also be brave- I could never attempt hair cuts on my twins myself!

The dukes comment reminds me of my latest screw up as a parent of twins. I will share...

Twins rock. They really do. I have twin girls who are now 10. They decided they were going to grow their bangs out and spent months torturing me with the resulting bad hair days.

One night one of them decided she wanted bangs and as soon as she could get the sentence out of her mouth I was there with the scissors! Lopped them off, happy as a clam I was.

Twin B cried and cried. What had I/she done? Cue 'awful mother' music please...

Twin A decides if her sister is so upset she too must have her bangs lopped off to make sis feel better and so they can continue to look alike (perhaps?)

Twins are the greatest. I really do have to admit :)

Hi, great blog. I found you through CNN. You obviously have bigger things to worry about than this and probably don't want advice from an anonymous person you don't even know. But when you put up a public blog, you get what you get.

Anyway, just a friendly tip from a twin to a mother of twins. I've been a twin my whole life (40+ years) and one of the best things my mom did was never refer to us as "the twins." Just as "the kids" or just by our names. Twins have a hard enough time forming their own identity without an additional label like "the twins."

Anyway, just a piece of advice, you can take or leave.

As I said, it's your public blog and you opening it to comments so I hope you don't mind.

be well.
