I love Indian food. One of my favorite dishes is Mutter (or Mattar or Mutter or etc.) Paneer, a pea curry with paneer cheese. I've often wondered about making it at home, but not in a serious enough way to do anything about it. Yesterday, I was doing some serious Web surfing, linking from here to there to everywhere, when I stumbled upon this recipe.
And the heavens opened and angels sang.
I made it last night and it was deeeeelicious. I did not put in the cashews since I plan to feed it to the twins and I am waiting until they are two to give them nuts. Also, I was out of garlic. Huh? I am never out of garlic, but I was last night, so I used a bit of Penzey's granulated garlic instead.
It was still good. And easy and fast. Two thumbs up. We'll see what the twins think tonight.
Random aside: Why does everyone love Flickr? For a number of boring reasons, I have created an account, and I've also looked at other people's Flickr photos before. I find the interface to be really clunky and confusing. Am I missing something?

I have Flickr problems myself, although I have an account. Email me your account name and all and we'll share photos.
I'm glad you feed Maddie and Riley all kinds of food. Both OD and YD were given a variety of foods from the time I got them, and they are great eaters now. Gigi? Not so much. Not much variety in her original diet.
Try www.dropshots.com
It's relatively new, but I think it's easier than Flickr.
I also used to babysit for the children in the "example" page....lol.
I've had a Flickr account for maybe a month, and you're right that parts of the interface are not intuitive. I still love it, though, mostly because of all the features it does have and all the groups and ways of sharing. And they have a really, really good help section. I've used it several times to figure out things like how to post a picture in a discussion thread (not obvious), and it finds exactly what you're looking for on the first search and then gives you great, clear instructions.
Flickr is great, and actually easy to use, I think. Download the Flickr uploader, much better than the default browser one. The more you use it, the more you will like it!
Snick, I hate Flickr too.
It's worked for me...but then, I am pretty hopeless at doing clever things with pictures, so the fact that it might make that harder is lost on me. I used it initially because it was free, then upgraded because I wanted somewhere to put my pictures and wasn't aware of many alternatives. Ready and willing to be enlighted though..meanwhile, it would be lovely to see more photos of the twins if you felt like telling the world about your flickr account.
I second marcella— everything is easier using the Flickr Uploader.
I've had a personal account since last November and haven't used it (or liked it) much, but last month I started a pro account for a client, and somewhere in the course of uploading all his two thousand shots it all got much more enjoyable. Practice makes palatable, I guess.
I think there's some way of interfacing iPhoto with the Flickr account. I could look into it for you if you want...
I loooooove Indian food--no place to get it here so I ought to try cooking it.
My friend recommends phanfare.com instead of flckr. I haven't tried it yet, but her pages look great.
I use Flickr partly because I think it's fun and partly because other people whose photos I want to look at and comment on are on Flickr, and you have to be a member to comment. They're sneaky like that. It does take some getting used to, like anything.
snick,
will you post the recipe?
also, i second and third the flickr uploader suggestions.
Snick, that looks like a recipe that I might even be able to handle, thank you so much for sharing, I love Indian food, so yummy!
Duncan--
Does the link not work for you? I don't want to post someone's original recipe w/o asking. The recipe came from www.sugarandspices.info. It's a gorgeous blog--I encourage you to go check it out.

Thank you for the link to the recipe you tried. It opened up a whole new world of Indian cooking for me! I've just learned to love Indian food, and though there are a zillion restaurants around here, the prices have always been the main reason I can't justify eating out every week. So to have a resource that teaches me to do it at home, well, that is wonderful. Thank you for sharing!
I don't like Flicker either. I think it's hard to use. My brother suggested Picasa (sp?), and thinks it is easier. I haven't tried it yet, but have to do something soon since Yahoo photos is closing shop.
flicker irritates me to, plus I find it to be a little too pretentious for my taste.
I have an account too, and I am SO GLAD to hear you say you don't love it.
I just don't get it, and I have switched to smugmug.com--bliss!
HI!
Another option (like you need one!;) is photobucket.com. There's no limit to photo uploads (my big peeve with flickr) and the uploads are swishy-fast.
take care!~
Hi, new to your blog! Thanks for the excellent recipe site! I have been looking for something like this.
Also, I don't like Flickr either, but find Picasa very easy to use and I think it has a good interface. Also, makes emailing photos sooooo easy!
