Maddie has a tooth!

When I took the kids to daycare on Friday, one of the other moms commented on Riley's toothy grin, then asked if Maddie had any teeth. I told her that Maddie was toothless for now, but took the opportunity to poke my finger in Maddie's mouth and feel around. My little girl made a liar out of me! The top right center tooth has cut through, just barely. No wonder she's been suddenly totally addicted to her Binky after nearly giving it up completely.

Hooray for Maddie!

Hooray for Maddie!
Those things are useful. For when, you know, you have to get a tag off of a new shirt. And for other things too.
Hope she doesn't crank up the crank to go with the teeth.

It's probably awesome that you DIDN'T know -- hopefully it means she is one of the kids who doesn't get cranky when she's teething! Bean was like that too. (Buddy wasn't.)

Yay Maddie!

Definitely a good thing that you didn't notice. My daughter was great when her teeth came in (at 6 months); no crying, not much chewing, just a lot of drool.

My son on the other hand...

Ahhhhh I love it when that first tooth pokes through. I used to run my fingers all along Buddha's gums in hopes of feeling another shard poking through here or there.

Someone gave me a tip for dealing with teething pain:
Children's Liquid Benedryl. Rub a little on the gums - instant relief. Oragel makes the gums tougher...prolonging the poking through effect. Ack!

Woo-hoo Maddie! Now, watch out, mama...next thing you know she'll bite you. Teething can be a reall pain in the mouth (heh, heh). My failsafe remedy for teething pain was infant motrin/ibuprofen. Not only does it relieve the pain, but it works as an anti-inflammatory, too. It doesn't sound like she was having a lot of trouble with this one, though (other than the binkie gnawing), so let's hope that trend continues. Here's to pain-free teeth.

I never knew how exciting teeth could be until I had a child

Congrats to Maddie and her new tooth, may they come in painlessly.

Sorry I haven't been around. I was just catching up. I do think of you often and hope to keep up. Sounds like you are doing an amazing job with the kids! New tooth, how exciting!

Being a mom of twins I know how wonderful it can be and how trying. Good luck and take care
