Nighttime, On Bike, Portland

Book club meeting tonight, first one with this group. Moby Dick. Yep, I'm that geeky.

Smart people. Good discussion. Felt a little out of my element at first among the PhDs and ABDs and other smarties. Found my groove.

Biked there. Summer isn't here yet, but the night was warm, a little humid. Portland humid. Nothing like MA. Or Gabon. Slightly buzzed on the ride home. Can't describe the feeling of the air, the glow of the streetlights, the sound of the MAX train's bell.

WARM?!? You call this evening warm?? Okay, it wasn't frigid cold and I was fine standing outside in just t-shirt sleeves at 9pm, so maybe you could get away with saying it was comfortable. But I absolutely draw the line at "warm." ;o)

WHERE IS SUMMER??

We must have had some good group vibes going tonight. I started a new photography class at PCC tonight and also had a bit of that buzz going.

Perhaps it was a More Than Just A Widow buzz?

Glad you had a nice time tonight! I've never touched Moby myself...thank the lord. ;o) See ya next week!!

Be careful... a friend of mine got a DUI for riding her bike home from one of our book clubs. No joke.

I'm a (very) part-time member of a book club. I regret that I didn't participate for the Moby Dick phase.

Sounds like a great evening.

Are you just loving Moby Dick? I adored it but was grateful to read it on my own "for pleasure."

I want to start a "classics" book club. I'm so sick of reading crap like The Lost Symbol for book clubs. I'm that geeky, too (although I've always hated Moby Dick).
