Things always do get better. Sometimes it takes a long time to see the improvement, other times it's more immediate. But eventually things improve, and today, for that, I am grateful.
You know, I'm not that far from your work. If you ever want to meet for a drink, um, of water, at lunch, just let me know. Glad to hear things are looking up.
I know exactly what you mean. I had lunch with an old friend today. She told me that she could see me "emerging, coming out the other side." This is almost 4 years after my husband's death. And, I thought, she is right. I am coming through. . . though it has been damn hard, and I have worked my ass off to get here.
And, look at you--the huge steps you've taken to make your own life better. Working through all the issues to move TWICE, sell your condo, relocate across the country, start a new job, get the kids settled. Whew! You DESERVE for things to be getting better. It hasn't just "happened." You've earned it.
Oh Snick...so brief to read yet so beautiful. Wishing you continued emergence, improvement and gratitude...and the ever-present knowledge that you have so many in your corner.

Amen sister.
you have, however, worked very hard and have been very brave along the way to "better." i'm not sure it usually just happens.
couldn't be said better.
