Too funny! I was just at a conference and every time they referred to a page in the conference notebook, I thought to myself -- Our handy-dandy notebook! Still cracking myself up about it, actually. sad times.
I used to work for a prominent monthly magazine. My editor and I both were parents of 3-year-olds. One day, I was humming as I typed, and a reporter walking by me said, "What on earth are you humming?" Without looking up from the story he was reading, my editor said, "Little Bunny Foo Foo."
Kids will do that to you.

haha, i'm always singing the dora song, the map song, the backpack song, the "we did it" song... i'm posting this secretly because i don't want anyone to know i really enjoy singing those songs!! watching dora over and over and over with a 2 year old will do that to you.
my personal fav? "Rescue pack ... Comin' to the rescue ... " to an outrageous latin beat on Diego

Oh god, I use that tune to sing to my kids all the time, we do ddddd daddy, ddddd daddy, then we do each girls name, then mommy, then the cat , and on and on and on...maggie
I've found the only tune-purging remedy that works:
Think of the song "Tie a Yellow Ribbon 'round the Ol' Oak Tree..."
It magically replaces any other song you've been stuck on in your head. Amazingly, the yellow ribbon doesn't have the same sticking power - so I'm able to be tune free after that.
But if you weren't able to get rid of d-d-d-Dora at a CONCERT, I'm not sure my method will work on you.

Very funny! Although alot of those tv show theme songs can be rather addicting. I often find myself singing along to Spongebob Square Pants and I do not have any children.....yet! :)
I read your post while my daughter sits in the living room watching Dora, too funny. Kid shows, gotta love 'em
funny. was at the peter paul and mary concert a few days ago and couldn't get 'if i had a haaammer i'd ahammer in the mooorning' out of my head for hours. and they didn't even sing that one!
And you know you are not when you have NO idea what this blog post means, lol.

I've found myself bopping along to the "Come On, Jump In" song from Handy Manny on more than one occasion...
Jrex has an evil, evil ability to get songs stuck in my head. I dread the kids songs that might come later...

HAH! I've had days like that :) Lately it's been the backyardigans for me though...
I can totally relate to that. Hve been there, done that and still doing it. The joys of parenthood.
