Not sure why . . .

. . . but when I woke up on Saturday morning, I was inspired to put my contacts in for the first time since John died.

My eyes were surprised and not entirely happy on Saturday, but I pulled repeat performances yesterday and today, and it's all good now. It's a new me! Or the old me! Or something.

Ha...I've only worn my contacts a handful of times since the boys were born, and that was nearly three years ago. So I can totally relate. My last one-year supply lasted me three years. I just received a two-year supply--those should last me a good, long time.

Also, I'm so glad your ads are up and running! Snazzy. Hope that brings in a little extra!

Go you! I believe the next step is to get yourself a pair of nice fancy sunglasses.

Julia--

Absolutely! I think one of my semi-subconscious motivations was the fact that I don't have prescription sunglass and I'm tired of all the squinting.

How about taking all of the money from the ads and getting LASIK done? I had it done a few months after my daughter was born - it was a godsend.

Yeah for contacts AND ads! New things are happening.

I just started trying to wear contacts again after a 6 month gap. Turns out they're scratching my corneas something dreadfully, I had to get new ones prescribed as my vision has changed since last time. Super expensive contacts her I come!

It's so cool when, about a week after you make a change like that, you forget what you've done and start surprising yourself in the mirror. A few days after getting a drastic haircut I always scare myself when I wake up and look in the bathroom mirror, but it's a good kind of scared!

I can only hope that the ads will generate enough revenue to finance LASIK. I would *love* to do that.

ok.. ya gotta post a pic now.. :)

now.. how does the blogher stuff work.. do you get compensated based on the number of clicks to an ad or do we have to do something at the linked page to get you some cashola.. i'm going to click on whatever link you have each day to donate to da cause... :) i'm so happy you got your ads of choice up.. blogher is so much cooler than the other options and i hope it makes a little difference.

sheesh.. now you're going to get me to start wearing MY contacts.. i haven't worn them since my near death experience with pink eye that landed me in the hospital.. *laff*

uum... the word verification thingy for my comment is like 26 letters long... yikes...

I need to get a new contact prescription...I'm too lazy to wear them most days. I, too would LOVE to get Lasik.

I hope the ads make it happen!

haha, i had the opposite day. I had lasik done about 2 years ago and just tonight at dinner while i was dodging peas thrown by my 1 yr old, my husband turns to me and says "i miss your glasses sometimes." um, ok. i have to admit though as great as lasik is, sometimes i do miss my cute tortois-shell specks!

Wowsers! I don't wear contacts but understand that they're quite freeing for people who have to wear glasses 24/7. Way to go, girl!
