Idol Top 9: My Take (It or Leave It)

This week was a little ho-hum for me. None of the performances really stood out as either horrific or sublime. Dolly is a hoot, though, isn't she?

Brooke:
Not your best, but you're still my favorite of the women. I'm waiting for you to get in touch with me on Facebook . . .

David C.: Also not your best, but the haircut is such an improvement. Wow!

Ramiele: Snooze. And shortalls? Shortalls? With gold stiletto boots? I know that I've documented my lack of fashion sense, but really: Who dresses you? Bottom three for you.

Syesha: Sitting on the piano was really, really cheesy. Another snoozer for me. Possible bottom three.

David A.: I cannot stop loving you, but I'm starting to feel like you're a one trick pony. The sentimental, heartfelt ballad is a genre you do well, but is that enough? Still, if I were a teenage girl, I'd totally want to go to prom with you.

Jason: The pants were marginally less tight this week. I think the reason I like you so much is that every week you take me back to my college coffeehouse days, and those are days I remember fondly.

Kristy Lee: This is your genre and you did it well, which annoys me because you really aren't very good and yet I think we'll be seeing you again next week.

Carly: You kept the scary pop eyes under control, which I appreciated. I've already forgotten what you sang, though. Guess I didn't like it very much.

Michael: Best of the night, and best-looking, too. Yum, yum, yum.

Couldn't agree more with your astute Idol observations (especially about the shortalls...why?!). Mmmm...Michael Johns. One question: do you vote? I'll cop to it! I am not ashamed! (Okay, maybe I'm a little ashamed. But I can live with it.)

I think if I were to give an update on my blog about American Idol I would just put a link to yours. We agree 100%. (Oh, except Brooke gets my Yum Yum Yum...If she does contact you in face book throw a virtual friend a bone!)

I am so ready for Kristy Lee and Ramiele to go in a double elimination. Like you I am afraid that won't happen.

I think my favortie is (besindes Brooke) David. The kid loves Syesha and always has a break in her tooth brushing/face washing/preparing for bed just as Syesha is about to sing. go figure.

FIngers crossed tonight that Ramiele gets the stiletto boot tonight.

The thing that cracked me up was Simon commenting on Carly's lack of style - not picking it up a notch. And yet he likes the shortalls? Please - I'll take Carly's bouncing girls over shortalls any day!

I'm with you on Kristy - why can't she just go home? But I'm all for Ramiele getting the boot too.

I'm with you on the shortalls! BYE, Ramiele.

I thought poor Carly looked stricken when Simon commented on her wardrobe -- poor woman, we already know she was being squeezed to death by Spanx last week...

I haven't watched much this year and I don't know who they all are but I like your comment
'Still, if I were a teenage girl, I'd totally want to go to prom with you.' Maybe as I never did the prom thing here as I never grew up here. But it made me laugh.

It's posts like this one that make me want to watch Idol...I just can't get into it. Is there something completely wrong with me?

We are totally watching the same show. Especially regarding Kristi. And Ramiele. And Syesha. And Jason. And... oh, hell, you get the point.

I heard that David Cook was taken to the hospital last night with high BP and heart palpitations. BUT I have also heard that he was treated & released... I hope!!

I was *totally* wondering what you'd think about last night's show. And you know what? I agree 100%.

Is it wrong that I fantasize about Michael Johns when I'm doing mundane things, like feeding the twins lunch? I hope not. :)

Michael Johns is smoking hot! But for some reason that silly crooked grin David Cook has makes me MELT. I'll admit it, I've voted for David Cook about 100 times but not this week... I missed all of Idol except the end of Syesha's performance and Michael's... had to take b-day girl to Chuck E. Cheese and got home late and was just too tired to dial.

Amy--

Nope. Not wrong at all. Couldn't be more right, in fact.

110% agree with your take on all the idols. I knew Shortall was going home too.

Delurking because I can't shut up about Idol. Michael was hot this week. I do wish little David would show us a bit more. This mushy stuff is starting to bore me.
