Conversation last week when out to breakfast with a friend that I've known since pre-school:
Friend: So I had this dream that Barack Obama was accepting the Democratic nomination for President, and he was wearing nothing but his boxers. Damn, he looked gooooooooood.
Me: Mmmmm, I'll be he did.
You know you're a grown-up when your fantasies are about a presidential candidate. Wearing boxers.
(Go, Obama!)

Oh, wow. Great image. Seriously. Thanks. I'm going to enjoy the thought all day long!!!!!!
That is hilarious. It's just another "passing into adulthood moment". I remember the first time I watched Price is Right and was jealous the guy won a washer and dryer...it makes you realize you are a grown up.
He is quite dishy, I agree! I don't think I've ever said that about a Canadian candidate to be Prime Minister... interesting...
That's a nice dream! And Obama isn't your average looking presidential cantidate either!
Yum. But I think John Edwards is soooooooooooooo cute. Totally my type. If I were out with Obama I'd be all self-conscious wondering if I had shtg between my teeth.
mmmmmmmm. That's all I'll say about that.
But, you know, as his daughter says, "he already has a wife", and I think we'd all have a tough time competing with the one he already has!
Bwahahahahahaha!
Good point.
Absolutely, anonymous, but we can all enjoy the fantasy. I confess to having one of my own the other night at my modern dance class when the instructor put on the Latin classic "Sway." Oh, I thought to myself, to be doing the samba with a certain U.S. senator from Illinois, so tall and charming and ethnically interesting!!!! Yup, a menopausal moment, but one I enjoyed!!!
I'm just adding a yummmmmmmmm to the conversation.
I second, Go Obama!
mmmmm is right! Still don't know who I'm voting for but mmmmmm.
This would have been much different had it been a dream about Rudy Giuliani! Very funny!
Oh my god, that was hilarious. thanks for the laugh out loud laugh. (the kind that makes people in the coffee shop start because you are sitting alone and look a bit nuts)
My oh-I-am-suck-a-grown-up-moment?
When my friend's pre teen was telling me about a video she loves to watch. Her exact words:
"I can do every dance step in the blah blah blah video from MTV. Oh, that's music television. The video is by Janet Jackson, she's a famous singer."
One day I'll tell you stories about K/E 2004 campaign workers exhibiting their preferences for one of the Senators' looks over the other... :)
