Well, I'll be a blue-nosed gopher.

The twins listened to my advice! (Or we have a coincidence on our hands.) In any case, they slept right on through the night last night. I woke up because I had to pee, and looked at the clock before I got out of bed, figuring it was around 2:00 a.m. or so (when I often wake up). But no: it was 5:30 a.m. Yay!

Riley started chit-chatting at that point, but happily, so I just listened and dozed. I heard Maddie chime in, but then things got quiet again and were quiet when I got up to shower at 6:30 a.m. I ended up getting them up around 7:15 a.m.; at that point, Mads was awake, but the Ri-Man was still sleeping. Go, twins! We'll be having that same pep talk tonight before bed.

I was especially glad that they let me get an interrupted night's sleep last night because I stayed up too late catching up on a few things. I sent a number of way overdue e-mails (although I still owe a few, so if you're waiting to hear from me, don't despair: I'm working on the backlog), got some laundry done, and did a few other random little things around the house that had been bugging me. It was a good evening, and a very good night. Here's to more.

Yay! Congrats to all three of you. Isn't it the nicest feeling when those little pep talks actually work? I've been having the same talks everyday with Bean about napping at school. Who woulda thunk...

Ha ha ha!! I read your post last night and was really hoping your talk with the twins would work. Maybe I'll try that tonight with mine--I'm not feeling very hopeful, though.

Oh, man! I love you and a good night sleep? That sounds divine, and I am so so glad they cooperated. And yes, I say nightly pep talk is in the cards.
Supertodlers! :)

The older they get the more you can reason with them (and they with you.) It's a lot of fun.

So glad you had a night of sleep. But what I really have to say is thanks for the "blue-nosed gopher" title. That's ridiculously funny...it just struck me as hilarious.

Coming out of the dark to say hooray! I'm still working (desperately, tiredly, hopefully) on getting my 11-month-old twins to sleep through the night. Some day? Please? I don't know how you can keep running without a full night's sleep. At least that's my excuse for a general lack of exercise these days...
