I feel like I forgot how to blog.

I'm all out of practice. I think part of the problem is that I have so much to blog about right now that I don't know where to start. I have some update kind of stuff and some more thinking kinds of posts brewing.

The thing that's on my mind most right now it my tattoo. I got it. I love it. The experience of getting it merits its own post; it was truly one of the most meaningful things I've ever done. I'll post pictures as soon as I get around to taking them, but it's in my inside left ankle, and it's almost 3" in diameter. It's amazing. I talk about it nonstop and show it to everyone. I can see why getting tattoos is addictive. While I don't expect that I'm going to get a bunch more, I am thinking about how I can add Maddie and Riley's names to what I got so that the whole Goose family is right there on my ankle.

We got back to Boston last night, and I'm at work today. I have mixed emotions about being "home." It's really hard to feel like home is two places that are on opposite sides of the country. I can only begin to imagine how immigrants must feel. It was sweet to see the kids so excited to be in their own playroom, and they slept like angels last night, from 7:15 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. It was great for all of us, as they did OK with the time change in Oregon, but never really slept as well as they do at home. A solid night's sleep and a long, hot shower this morning went a long way to making me feel good about being back.

About that long, hot shower, though . . . before I left for Oregon, my shower drain was fine. When I took a shower this morning, it was completely stopped up. Odd, no? Luckily, my dad is here, having flown to Boston with me to help out with the twins, so he was able to be the man of the house when the plumber came at 10:00 and removed a giant hair clog from the drain. Yuck. But at least that's taken care of. We only have one bathroom, and something about air travel always makes me feel really grimy. Thus, by extension, the twins must feel grimy, so I am hell-bent on giving them a bath tonight.

Evidently, being out of practice with posting means that I post boring things. I'll work on that. And on pictures of the tattoo. More interesting things to come.

SO BUMMED that we couldn't get our schedules to coincide!!! Oh well, next time I guess.

I have to send you an email...I have to tell you what happened yesterday when you were flying home!

Hugs and non-grimy vibes. (I know just how you feel, I always feel like I've been rolling in Crisco by the time I get home after air travel. Ewww.)

Can't wait to see the tattoo! Where did you get it done? I never thought I would even consider getting a tatt...but I've actually been considering it lately. My bro is a tattoo artist, but the commute to Vermont is a bit much. LOL

HUGS "Snick"!

Welcome back!
I am excited to see the tattoo, and I am glad you are so happy with it. Good deal, that.
Your dad rocks. Just thought I would mention it. And, of course, a nice long night's sleep for the babies and for you sounds excellent. I am going to aim for some of that myself tonight.
Can't wait for the pics and the thoughts.

Someone told me once that the best thing about going on vacation is coming home. That's especially true when it comes to my shower, which I looooove. Nothing better than great water pressure. Oh, wait. That sounded dirty...

Welcome home! I can totally relate to that feeling of having two homes...sigh. It always takes me a little while to adjust.

SO COOL that you love your tattoo. Can't wait to see a picture. Adding Maddie and Riley's names to it sounds like an awesome idea, too.

Lots of love to the three of you.

Boring, my ass!

I love your dad. He does the same things I know my Dad did for me when he was alive and would continue to do if he was still around. Give yours a hug from me.

I SO LOVE that your shower will be operational now. I loathe plumbing problems of all kinds.

I had ink fever really bad after my tattoo. I kept thinking of all the discreet places I could put another or three. But I've resisted a second for 16 years. I'm still pretty happy with it. I don't regret having it, but I wish I could change it every now and then. I see cool ones I would like to have but I really don't want more than one.

It is really exhilirating to do something so permanent isn't it? It's like an instant change.

I have been reading your blog for a while now and I love it. I look forward to your new posts. I want to ask your advice. I recently got to know a co-worker of mine who lost her 25 year old daughter to a car accident last July. She and I taked a lot about it last week and I want to do something for her to honor her daughter. I am kind of at a loss as to what would be appropriate at this stage. Do you or any of your readers have any ideas? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks and can't wait to see your tattoo!
