Between paying for the memorial (catering, scrapbook supplies, etc.) and the $1,000 I just dropped on my car, I'm feeling a little strapped for cash this month. Imagine my joy today to find in my mailbox the first payment out of John's school system pension, which includes catch-up payments from the date of his death.
Ahhhh . . . I deal very poorly with financial insecurity, and this was a welcome good turn from the universe.

You deserve a good turn from the universe about now...glad you got one!
Yeah for you! Glad it had good timing, and the whole "catch up" part, I loved when my husband's disabiltiy payment did that, it was a real blessing at the time. Enjoy that feeling of financial security....oh yeah and car trouble SUCKS.
So glad some unexpected good happened to you today!
Lord, what a bittersweet check.
Sending you some love.
I'm not sure everyone knows how much financial worries can effect every aspect of one's life. Since I have been on welfare I know what not having any money means. Glad you got a little relief so you can concentrate on what is really important to you. Best Wishes
That's lovely. Great timing!
Good to hear they got their butts in gear and got your much deserved money to you and the kids.
You shouldn't have to worry about money right now and glad to hear you will have that supplement for the months to come.
Hoping all is well on the home front.
Amy
Yes you do deserve a good turn! Take care
Hurray! That's great timing, I'm glad the money came when it did.
Ahhh I know that feeling all too well. Glad it came when it did.
Excellent news! I'm so happy to hear that things are starting to go your way! Here's to more days like that from the universe.
Whew. I love the unexpected / life-saving check in the mail. Yet, as yankee said, a bit bittersweet.
I love when unexpected money shows up -- although I wish you still had John rather than the $$. Someone's looking out for you!
I think it was John just looking out for his love. :) Although I wish he was with you instead of the money.
