Took shower this morning, as usual. Washed hair as first step, as usual. Completed remaining steps of shower in usual order. Got out and dried off. Hair felt funny. Hmmmm. Put mousse in hair, lotion on body. Dried hair. Still felt funny.
Realized that I never actually shampooed hair, just rinsed it.
Oops.
Feeling a little gritty today.

i just found you via a link in Emme's blogroll.
First, let me say how sorry I am for the loss of your John. I am just starting to comb backward through the archives and your love for him leaps off the page and hurts my throat. I can not imagine. Can Not.
Second, I have twins. Two boys, age 2 in March. I dont know how you are doing it but Bravo. And Bravo again. Twins are a wonderful crazy mixed blessing of joy and hysteria.
I have *totally* done that before! Except I put in conditioner but somehow skipped over the shampooing part...felt rather greasy all day long.
Hope tomorrow's shower is more productive! = )
Oooooooh I hate it when that happens! I've never forgotten to wash my hair, but I've gotten out, dressed, and done my hair before realizing that I didn't rinse out the conditioner. THAT'S a pain in the arse, sister!
I read your previous post and had to agree with both quotes - wholeheartedly. Sheesh.
I have so done this before. I have also washed my body with shampoo and hair with body soap. YUCK!
I'm sure no one has noticed. Don't worry. :) Have a happy 4th with your beautiful twins!
Hey, I've done that too! Good to hear that I'm not alone in the "brain turned totally off" group...
I hope life will decrease your stress level soon...
welcome to my world... except that I generally forget to shave ONE leg. and I don't have nearly as much on my mind as I think you do. stay strong, sister: laugh off what you can.
(a lurker)
I have so done that: forgotten to wash hair, forgotten to rinse out conditioner (eww), forgotten to rinse the bod. It happens. Let's be happy we remember to shower at all.
xoxo
Just this morning I took a shower at my gym. There are four dispenssers on the wall. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, and shave gel.
I wash my hair and start to think that it feels really funny. I washed my hair with shave gel! It was expanding by the minute! It took forever to rinse out. For some reason, I space out in that locker room because it is one of the few places I get to be without my kids and I do all kinds of stupid things in there.
Does going to school with mascara on one eye and not the other count as a screw up? Oops, thought so! LOL! Have a great holiday week end!
Welcome to mommy world!!! Last week i wore my shirt inside out to work. All day I'm trying to be professional and make intelligent and insightful comments. But in reality I dressed myself like a toddler. But you know if this had happened before I had kids I'd be mortified...Now it just made me laugh...Children bring so much perspective to our lives!
I hope you have a wonderful 4th with the kids!
Alice
I have a terrible habit of zoning out when showering and forgetting if I washed my hair. That results in my hair getting washed repeatedly, often with a different shampoo. I also shave part of my legs or one side only rather frequently.
Question: You posted a recipe for something with a funny name involving eggplants. I have eggplant, after a major search I have tahini, and now I have no recipe. Would you mind emailing it to me (when you have time) or reminding me where it's posted? I have re-read and searched your archives and just haven't come up with it.
thanks
I've shampooed three times thinking I hadn't done it yet, does that count?
Hugs and supportive thoughts.
Hi Snick,
I tagged you for a meme. Check out my blog (tulipandturnip.blogspot.com) to see it!
Lurker de-lurking--I've done about everything the other commenters report, plus all kinds of tragic failures in coffee-making. The best, though, was getting into the shower, applying soap, wondering why my skin was so exceedingly rough, and realizing: I'd forgotten to take off my clothes. Your plate is so very full--thinking of you.
Once when my twins were about the same age as yours, I left the house (in wrinkled clothes, of course) without brushing my teeth. It wasn't until I was talking to an uber-fashionista (who had stopped to admire my clean children) that I realized what I'd done. And I didn't have as much on my plate as you do.
Hey, if it makes you feel better - last night I washed my hair with bodywash instead of shampoo (by accident). TWICE. After washing it the first time, it still felt greasy (wonder why), so I lathered up AGAIN. Only when I turned to find my bodywash to wash the rest of me did I realize I had been *using* my bodywash for my *hair*, and the shampoo was untouched on the ledge above the showerhead.
I've just run conditioner through my hair before, no shampoo, and spent the day wondering why I felt a little greasy.....
So funny — as are some of the comments here!
I'm sure I've done all of these things too. Except that I'm too scatterbrained to even notice or remember.
